This year, we are pleased to announce Springfield Urban League's Male Involvement Group will be showing their support- and they are bringing a group of 23 men to take a stand against sexual violence in our community. A big thanks to Larry Hemingway for coordinating this... we did a "shoe fitting" with Larry last week..so don't miss seeing him in his 4" red stilettos! What a good sport!
In addition, the SUL will have their WOW mobile unit (Wellness on Wheels) at our registration site offering free prostrate screenings for men- along with other health screenings.

I am proud to introduce our 2008 WAM Honorary Chairs...Erin and Jason Domonousky!
Erin is a Sexual Assault Survivor and she shared her story in front of the crowd last year at the post-march rally. She spoke about her attack and her journey becoming a sexual assault survivor. It was a powerful speech! Thank you, Erin and Jason, for being a part of our event and helping us raise awareness about sexual violence and ways to prevent it.

1 month and 3 days away...GET READY!

HELLO Walk-A-Milers!
Get those shoes polished and ready to walk....it's coming up soon on April 19th in downtown Springfield!! I hope you are ready because we sure are!!!!!!!!!
We are busy here at Prairie Center planning for this great event...and to be honest we are just so excited to do this again. This event is our major fundraiser/awareness raiser event- and we expect it to be bigger and better this year. The support this year has been overwhelming- and there are so many people to thank- our staff, board of directors, volunteer planning committee, sponsors, our local universities, the media..and the list just goes on and on.
The planning is underway but there is still much to do...like spreading the word to our community to recruit participants and soliciting some great prizes from our local business community for our individual and team fundraising winners. So if you or someone you know wants to get involved- please email us at development@prairiecasa.org or give us a ring at 744-2560 and we will hook you up!
Remember this event encourages male participants but EVERYONE is encouraged to participate- men, women, and children. The Springfield Walk a Mile march is organized by the staff, friends, and supporters of Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault and money raised will support Prairie Center;s prevention education programs and benefit the victims and survivors of sexual assault.
We will keep you updated on the planning and festivities...so tune back in! Hope to see you on April 19th- you won't regret being a part of this!
Thanks!

Introducing..the Silver Stiletto Sponsor

That's right...our guys (Chris and Chuck) from United Wealth Strategies came through for us again this year! Last year they came out and "walked a mile" in their calf high boots and colorful sandals to show their support for Prairie Center (pictured above- Chris in sandals and Chuck in the fashionable red boots)...and they decided this year they would do even more and sponsor this wonderful event this year!
We appreciate their partnership and support of our agency! You guys rock!
